Friends List Related Error Messages

Send File

  • A problem occurred during the reading of the file, action cancelled.
    There was a problem when the file was transferring. Please try again.
  • Cannot determine local IP address!
    Your computer may not be logged on to the Internet or you don't have an IP address entered. Please check your connections and try again.
  • Can't open the file: either it does not exist or it is in use by another application.
    Usually this means the file is already in use by another application, so ubi.com cannot send the file. For example, do not attempt to send an mp3 while you are currently listening to it.
  • This file is empty (0 bytes). There is no point sending it!
    Since the file exists but doesn't have any info in it, there’s no need to send it.
  • The file transfer has been cancelled by the receiving party.
    The person that you wanted to send the file to has cancelled the file transfer.
  • The file transfer has been refused by the receiving party.
    The person that you wanted to send the file to has refused the file transfer.
  • Unable to establish connection with receiving party.
    Unable to send the file to your Friend. Make sure that neither of you is behind a firewall. Another possibility is that one of you is lagging a lot, so the file can't be sent.

Receive File

  • An error occurred during file transfer. Either it is protected or it is in use by another application.
    There was a problem when the file was transferring. Please try again.
  • The file transfer has been cancelled by the sending party.
    The person who sent the file has cancelled the transfer.
  • Unable to establish link with receiving party.
    Unable to receive the file transfer. Make sure that neither of you are behind a firewall. Another possibility is that one of you is lagging a lot, so the file can't be sent.

Textual Chat

  • Cannot connect to the Chat Server for the moment.
    It is possible that our Chat Servers are down at the moment. Ubi.com will reconnect automatically once it has fixed itself. If your computer is behind a Firewall, please make sure that the port 6667 is open.
  • You have been disconnected from the Chat Server.
    The ubi.com chat server is currently experiencing problems. Please try again later.
